Marriage isssss supposed to be a happy occasion, but on occasion it may also undermine mental health. To determine marriage’s effect on depressive symptoms, researchers assessed 152 women during their engagement and then again 6 months post-wedding. Overall, rough 1 in 10 women (12%) reported increased depressive symptoms from before to after marriage (by comparison 6% experienced fewer symptoms). Researchers also explored uncertainty in one’s self, the partner, and the relationship and found that when uncertainty increased in any domain, it coincided with increases in depressive symptoms. Overall, those who were more certain about their relationship experiences less “post wedding blues.”

Back in April, the TV star admitted she’s ‘working on her relationship’ with Ryan and they still haven’t made plans for their wedding following their two-year engagement.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the blonde said being in isolation with the hunk hasn’t been easy and they’ve agreed to ‘try harder and make the effort to appreciate each other’.

Louise explained: ‘At the beginning it wasn’t that easy but we’ve had to make a really conscious effort to make some changes.

‘We are actively working on our relationship now. For the first couple of years in a relationship you’re still in that love phase, there are still new things to experience.

‘We’ve been together for four and a half years now and you do go through phases. You have to try a bit harder and make the effort to appreciate each other.

‘We are communicating more and having chats about what each other wants, so now we have set some boundaries.’

The pair had booked to marry at London’s Kew Gardens in December 2019 but cancelled their plans.

Earlier this month, the influencer was slammed for being ‘inappropriate and disrespectful’ for posting a holiday snap to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

The brunette came under fire after posting three photographs of herself on the beach accompanied by an excerpt of Laurence Binyon’s 1914 poem, For The Fallen.

The star’s vacation comes amid the global COVID-19 pandemic with over 52 million cases worldwide and 1.29 million deaths.

In the model’s native USA, there have been total of 10.5 million cases with over 242,000 deaths; on the same day as her paddle boarding session, 143,000 were counted as having been diagnosed the virus.

The North Carolina-born beauty trip comes ten months after she announced her engagement.

Martha posted to her Instagram in early January that she has a secret, as she used her left hand – and revealing her huge diamond engagement ring – to shush herself.

The proposal occurred on January 5, 2020 but she announced it three days later.

The blonde beauty posted three photos in the slideshow, with the second one a snap of her snuggled up to Jason and the third one after he proposed.

She tagged the location as Harbour Island, Bahamas.
